Global superstars, regional legends, and a closing night to remember.
Jeddah, April 21, 2025: The curtain closed on MDLBEAST’s Saudi Grand Prix music series Sunday night with a lineup that brought the past, present, and future of music into one unforgettable collision. With performances from Marwan Pablo Usher, Major Lazer, and a very special collaborative moment between Arab pop icons Hisham Abbas, Moustafa Amar, and Hamid El Shaeri, the weekend’s closing chapter felt less like a finale and more like a culmination.
Kicking things off on the final day, Egyptian rapper Marwan Pablo delivered a performance at the Fan Zone, unleashing a wave of moody, minimalist beats that resonated with a new generation of listeners hungry for something different. A perfect example of what the region has to offer to global audiences.
Headlining the final night, three titans of Arabic pop — Hisham Abbas, Moustafa Amar, and Hamid El Shaeri — took the stage in a joint performance that brought decades of beloved classics back into the spotlight. The tribute to regional legends served as a vibrant nod to the artists who helped define the Arab pop sound.
Usher then lit up the stage with a headlining set that was equal parts precision and pure artistry. Backed by dancers, a live band, and his unmistakable charisma, the R&B superstar delivered the kind of mainstage memory that only a true showman can.
Major Lazer took things in a totally different direction, lighting the fuse on a rhythm-fueled set that pulsed with dancehall, reggaeton, and global bass - turning the Jeddah Corniche into a full-blown party.
“There’s no formula to nights like this,” said Ramadan Alharatani, CEO of MDLBEAST. “Just the right mix of memory, momentum, and magic. From the vibrant heart of Jeddah to Arab pop and global icons, what we saw this weekend is that audiences here are ready for it all – and we’re just getting started.”
As the final notes faded out over Jeddah, MDLBEAST’s F1 weekend left no doubt: Saudi Arabia is no longer on the edge of the global music map - it’s firmly at the center of it. Across three nights, the event showcased not only the region’s appetite for world-class entertainment, but its ability to host, shape, and elevate it. From pop icons and superstar electronic acts to legends of Arabic music and rising regional stars, the weekend offered a glimpse of a cultural landscape that’s growing louder, prouder, and more connected with each passing moment.
